If you can get past the drum loops and high hats you’ll find
yourself a sexy little song. The slow pace puts you in a sort of dreamy state
as you embark on this track. The lyrics are very simple and leave you expecting
more. For example you get exactly what this song is all about from the first
line, “You slip your finger, through the tear in my t-shirt, You stirrin' up
dirty in the back of my mind.” Then if you watch the video you don’t even have
to guess. I felt a little awkward watching it in the library…but it’s nothing
nobody hasn’t seen before, especially on a college campus.
Looking at the lyrics all together it’s very disappointing.
Check em out here. Over half the song is chorus and the bridge. So
you’re sure to be singing it halfway through the first listen. I would love to
hear Aldean play an acoustic version of this song because to me it sounds much
better played acoustic instead of the way it was released. Until now though we
have had no such luck and left to deal with this version. But do yourself a
favor and listen to some acoustic covers on YouTube because the guitar alone
gives a whole different feeling to the song. Better yet here are some chords to
get you started so you can learn the song yourself. Listening is only half the
fun!
Here's a little taste of what an acoustic version might sound like.
Kudos to Derek Cate for this cool little cover.
Ps If you’re feeling courageous send your cover into us and we’ll share it!
And finally the distorted guitar route that leans more toward Rock
but still sounds good nonetheless. Thank you Ivo Cabrera!
