Jake Owen on Green Bananas

Jake Owen gets real philosophical with this track. Off of his album titled “Easy Does it” we get this laid back song about the life philosophy of a friend.
Jake shares the story of a friend that’s dying and has no idea how much time he has left to live. For this reason he switches his views from planning for the future to just about living for today. Jake uses the perfect object to symbolize his actions. You only buy green bananas a later time and never usually eat them because they aren't ripe. His friend no longer plans for the future so green bananas are a waste of money and time.

This song brings forward a problem in real life that many of us go through. A prime example is trying to get through high school or college to get to that real job and live a normal life. Then we get the job and now we can’t wait until we can retire. This song is a strong reminder for you to stop and smell the roses. Try to enjoy what you’re doing now cus you don’t want to accidentally wish your life away!

Rating: 5/6

This is the live version but it is still really good! So be sure to give it a listen and
remember the moral of the story.
